Being Muslim // Book Design and Responsive Website

Being Muslim provides an introduction to the beliefs and practices of the Islamic faith. The 312-page book was designed taking inspiration from traditional books and minimalist covers. The choice of paper stock and typefaces were deliberately selected to enhance that aesthetic.

The book was typeset in Linux Libertine, Brill, and Source Sans Pro. It was printed on Mohawk Carnival 100# vellum white cover and Glatfelter Offset 60# natural, and a custom die was created to emboss the cover and give the palm tree some depth. The cover illustration is a modified image that is in the public domain, while the illustrations within the book were done by Jessica Gallon.

An accompanying responsive website was designed and developed to compliment the design of the book. The website served to announce the book launch and take pre-orders.
